Martial arts is a game, ready to be completed.
Martial arts and everything for that matter is like a game.
You go through life levelling up your character by completing your missions and goals.
All of these missions and goals require work and are generally hard to complete.
What makes these goals valuable to you?
It's the fact they are hard and difficult, that's what gives them value.
In martial arts becoming a black belt should be a difficult challenge that takes many years of hard work and dedication.
When you say to someone "I'm a black belt "they should understand and respect your achievement.
The problem today is, everyone wants a black belt but nobody wants to do the work…
There's too many mcdojos out there giving black belts away like participation awards.
Games are so fun because they are hard and because all the cool sh*t is locked behind hard work.
If you started the game with all the best skills and everything unlocked the game will get boring quickly.
In our class we train with these fundamental principles, hard work, discipline and consistency is the only way to progress.
Motivation is fleeting and cannot be relied upon.
We are teaching skills and until you know them to the required standard you won't progress.
And the same with any skill the more you train it the faster you learn.
Gradings are coming up soon, I hope everyone has been putting in the reps.
Always earned, never given.
